Astral projection (out of body experiences, aka, OBEs) is a common practice in the New Age movement and the occult, where a person willfully disconnects their soul (or astral body) from their physical body and travels around in the astral plane. It is believed that people can use things astral projection meditations or sleep paralysis to initiated OBEs where they can travel around astral realms.
